Job Title: REGIONAL ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER Name of the Organisation: Greenpeace Ref: ngoportal Greenpeace - One of the world’s leading environmental campaigning organizations is looking for a REGIONAL ORGANIZATIONAL COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER The Regional Communications Officer reports to the Regional Communications Manager and is in charge of developing and implementing communications strategies that will deliver targeted messages to key audiences, toward the achievement of the organization’s goals. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES • Develop communications plans and programs and manage budgets for organizational projects (local and/or regional) and supervise their successful implementation in coordination with Media Officers and project teams; • Conceptualize, write and edit organizational materials including the Annual Report, online and offline advertisements, information packs, brochures, articles, letters, newsletters, etc, and coordinate with Media Officers for the placement and distribution of such organizational materials; • Coordinate lay-out, printing and publication of organizational materials into high-quality creative and user friendly products; • Provide media- and audience-related input and direction on organizational projects; • Coordinate with Media Officers on media and communications work around organizational press events and activities, including media logistics and pitching stories to local, regional and international press; • Develop, manage and maintain relationships with external suppliers and consultants for organizational projects; and • Perform other job related duties as requested or assigned by the Regional Communications Manager. SELECTION CRITERIA Essential Qualities and Skills 1. At least a Bachelor’s degree in Communications or related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and experience; 2. At least four years experience in PR or marketing communications; 3. Excellent writing and editing skills in English and at least one of the following Southeast Asian languages: Thai, Indonesian or Filipino; 4. Proven ability to develop and implement innovative communication strategies, particularly with features and soft media, both offline and online; 5. Collaborative and proactive, creative and analytical, demonstrating high levels of integrity and consistently excellent judgment; 6. Familiarity and understanding of the nonprofit sector; 7. Familiarity with current and emerging communications trends, technology and approaches and their relative effectiveness in achieving organizational goals; 8. Passionate and knowledgeable about environmental issues; 9. Willing to travel and able to work in a multicultural setting; 10. Strong computer literacy; and 11. Ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects and to meet tight deadlines, including a flexible mindset regarding working hours.
